This absolute kick-ass song comes from another music project that I have to thank for introducing me to artists that I would not have known about any other way, Jam In The Van. This project is exactly what it sounds like, musicians performing in a van. The van goes all over the United States allowing a wide variety of artists from many different genres to be featured. When I think about Jam In The Van, I think of rock, folk, country, and singer-songwriter genres of music.
That is where this song by STRUNG LIKE A HORSE comes in. It is a kind of rock, kind of folk, kind of country, and absolutely a singer-songwriter song. When a band has this mix of sounds, it is then titled Americana. It is the type of song to put on whenever you are feeling a bit lost or need that push to get you through. We all are trying to be loved and accepted but if it is costing you all that you are then it is not worth it. So, stand with conviction that you are you and that you are fucking awesome!
