Gracias, Residente. Sometimes a music video doesn't really add to the experience of a song but sometimes it makes the song. This video is the latter. The visuals deeply increase the power of the song. Which is saying a lot because the song alone is super powerful, with the lyrics are full of passion, full of history, and full of learning.
If you dig into the historical references in the lyrics, you'll learn about the Cuban Nova Trova. You'll learn about the 2001 riots in Argentina that lead to the country having 5 presidents in 11 days. From watching the video the reference to the murder of Chilean folk singer Victor Jara will teach you of their revolution. It makes me sad that I did not learn about Victor Jara until the past 5 years or so. But I now feel that he should be seen as being as influential and talented as Bob Dylan.
This song is good for starting a revolution.
