Bailen - I Was Wrong

Writer's picture: iamMIMCiamMIMC

Vocal harmonies are a thing that will make my ears perk up every time and Bailen does just that. This trio from New York are reminding me to be humble because sometimes you have to admit that you really were wrong. Right now this is a lesson that many of us need.

I've also been thinking about how the momentum in life's events and choices can lead us to places we don't really want to be. You make one choice, that leads you to make another, that leads to yet another choice, and next thing you look around and don't even know how you got where you are but it is a terrible place to be. There were reasons for each of the choices made, but in the end you are still in that terrible spot. Along the way you might have hurt people and might have even hurt yourself. Can you admit that your choices where bad and say that you were wrong? Or do you defend you choices and hope to get out of the terrible spot some other way?

Maybe this all goes back to the thought of whether the ends justify the means. But what if you honestly thought that the means were good, that each choice was the right one, but you still ended up in a terrible spot? Then, what? I guess that at some point we just have to admit, even if only to ourselves, that we were wrong and try something different.

Nothing's gonna change 'til we all can say

This song is good for being honest with ourselves even if it hurts.

Enjoy!
